Fun historical fact, there used to be more gay and lesbian content in early silent films until religious groups protested resulting in “decency standards.”
Mireille Havet (1898, Médan, Yvelines - 1932) was a French poet, diarist, novelist, and lyricist.
She wrote lyrics for songs composed by John Alden Carpenter and intended for Éva Gauthier. She wrote a novel, Carnaval, published in 1923. She was friends with Jean Cocteau and Colette, who referred to her as “la petite poyétesse”. She was openly lesbian.
Her diary, which she kept from 1913 to 1929, was only found again in 1995, and published in 2003.

HAPPY LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL AND TRANSGENDER MONTH!
Gay and Lesbian Pride Month is celebrated each year for the month of June. The last Sunday in June is celebrated as Gay Pride Day. On June 2, 2000, President Bill Clinton declared June “Gay & Lesbian Pride Month”. In 2009, 2010, and 2011 U.S. President Barack Obama declared June to be Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month, stating, “I call upon all Americans to observe this month by fighting prejudice and discrimination in their own lives and everywhere it exists.” The month was chosen to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall riots in Greenwich Village that sparked the modern LGBT liberation movement in the United States.
This month is meant to recognize the impact gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex people have had on the world. GLBT groups celebrate with pride parades, picnics, parties, memorials for those lost from hate crimes , and other group gathering events that attract thousands upon thousands of individuals. InterPride, the International Association of Pride Organizers, was founded in 1982 and has grown to encompass pride events around the world throughout the year. Although June remains the primary month for pride events the annual calendar shows events in most months.
LETS SEE IF WE CAN GET THIS UP TO 100,000 BY THE END OF JUNE.

All of my followers, better reblog this. Just sayin’
Being a bisexual trans/genderqurer person it would be a bit odd if I was homophobic
I used to pair my Barbie dolls together and my Ken dolls together when I was seven years old. I think that’s a pretty good indicator. ;3
Ugh, I can’t stand that shit. And they’re not even really supporting lesbians, all they want is to see some girl-on-girl action. Wanting to see some girl-on-girl is fine, I have nothing against that, but don’t fucking freak out when you see gay men. Jesus.
