It’s a shame that out of all the secrets posted, this one gets so much negativity.  It doesn’t make you look stronger when you call someone names just becausethey thinks differently than you.  Let’s be mature and respectful of other’s opinions.  I’m getting tired of this double standard.  *now this is a rant*.  Since when did disagreeing with someone give us the right to call them idiots, ignorant or hateful?  I know lots of people on both sides of these issues and I don’t think any of them are any of those things.  I just wish that instead of fluffy, offensive attacks that people would learn to articulate their own opinions with intelligence and maturity.
Anon Lolita, stay strong!  You deserve to believe in what you think is right and know there are like-minded Lolitas in the world.  I hope the community - and the world - learn how to be polite even when people disagree.

i understand that respect for other peoples opinions is highly pertinent, but there is not a way to carry harmlessly the prejudice necessary to believe women under any circumstances may be forced to give birth or gay people do not deserve to get married.
forcing women to carry children to term is torture. denying people their inalienable right to marry for any reason is an assault on every persons entire autonomy. it is ludicrous to sanitize the endorsement of these things as “ignorant” or “hateful;” it is unilaterally evil. maturity does not enter into it.
violent outrage is absolutely the appropriate reaction to a person complaining that they don’t get to advertise these horrible things without being criticized.

PREACH IT PRINCESS YI!

I’m sorry, but I think this whole issue is ridiculous. I was brought up being told that it was just common courtesy to not talk about three things in mixed company- Religion, politics, and sex. You shouldn’t be throwing your beliefs at people, no matter what they are, and as someone on the receiving end of that sort of conversation, you should be able to defuse that situation and politely change the subject. I don’t go around telling all the lolitas in my local community about my political and religious beliefs, and they extend that same courtesy to me. We get together because we all love frills and getting dressed up, not because we’re going to have a deep, emotional debate or anything. That’s how I think it should be.
